London Bridge

Design Engine provided structural engineering services to our client for the design of the timber soffits and their extensive sub grid on the London Bridge project. The soffits are formed from pre-fabricated timber slat panels, attached to an aluminium and steel sub grid hung from the structural bridge deck above.

The project had several complexities due to the lack of attachment points allowable to the bridge deck and the geometrical requirements for the soffit. We acted jointly with our client as the contractor’s responsible engineer to facilitate Network Rail’s QA requirements.
