Design Engine provided structural engineering and detailing for the light steel frame superstructure in our client’s proprietary light gauge steel system. The project is a six storey student accommodation block formed from panelised load bearing light gauge steel off a ground floor podium. Floors were formed in composite concrete decking and the roof was an inset mansard.

Design Engine developed the system with our client, including producing the NHBC Stage 1 manual in addition to the system and installation manuals. This project was the first to be formed in the new system and was fully engineered and detailed by us using packages including Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer, in addition to our own in-house design tools.
